"Think you can do it? Nope, but I'll try!"- the Starkid motto

icclenomi:

So I had the opportunity this weekend to perform a mashup, that I had arranged, in front of Curt Mega, Ashley Fink, Stephen Tobolowsky, and Max Adler- and luckily Sarah was lovely enough to record it!

Songs used: Don’t Stop Believing, Keep holding on, teenage dream, Don’t rain on my parade, and Loser like me

Exciting things happened following this- and I was totally blown away to even get to perform for them, yet alone place, yet alone freaking get joint first place and a free gold exclusive ticket to G3 next year- which is gonna be a Warbler con!!

This weekend was amazing- the guests were so great, and kind, so so wonderful- I cannot thank them enough for like, even considering me anywhere near to moa and chloe- or any of the other fantastic contestants- I met some really wonderful people- so many new friends- and I can’t wait for next year!

Hey guys! It’s my first try singing “Without You.”

Keep in mind, I haven’t gotten near enough practice, and I recorded this at 11am right after I ate breakfast, but I wanted to get my first try up! They’ll be more recordings today because I can today :)

Feedback is always appreciated! I own nothing, and it’s a’capella because that’s how auditions are! :D <3

this lovely lady is after any feedback you could give!

siriuslylovedarren asked: have you taken any guitar lessons?

no, I’m self taught out of my mom’s old guitar chord books and the internet :)

Be open to everything and just keep going, keep doing. Don’t let anybody tell you that you can’t do what you’re doing because the only person who’s gonna stop you from doing what you want is you.

“Kick it up a Notch” written by Darren Criss

Tune on alto saxophone, accompanied by keys, ukulele, hand drums and treble recorder.

To start us off, until we get any submissions, I’d like to put forwards a project that I did last year.

I had wanted to learn to play the guitar for some time, and had owned one for years without really progressing any further than learning about 5 songs with simple chord progressions. Finally, last summer, I decided to learn a new song every day- and to ensure I did, I posted a video of each song to this youtube channel, and I was only allowed one take once the camera came out.

The first few weeks weren’t producing the best music, but I most definitely improved.

I am happy to say I am proud of projectnomi, and I am proud to share it with you!

What We Want To Do

This blog was created for the purpose of promoting the importance of putting effort into everything; whether your level of ability is at a first grade level, or if your work is hanging up in a gallery- the most important thing is that you tried your hardest. If you put effort into a peice of work, that makes it beautiful!

It can be discouraging when you put a lot of hard work into a piece of work, and to not have it turn out exactly as you wanted- it happens to everyone; the important thing to remember is that it’s a process- and the journey is beautiful, everyone develops at their own pace, and that’s ok- if we all support each other we can create something amazing.

There is something truly wonderful about watching people grow, both as artists and as human beings.
